TEETH WHITENING:

Time, smoking tea and coffee are just a few things that cause your teeth to yellow and discolour. Whitening is a bit like a facial in that it helps unlock pores in your tooth so that stains are gently removed leaving teeth cleaner and brighter. Whitening can take years off your appearance.

Custom made bleaching trays (very thin clear gum shield) are made using impressions taken of your teeth. This can then we worn at night for about 3 weeks together with some peroxide gel your Dentist will give you. Photographs of your teeth are taken before and after to record the results.

Whitening is perfectly safe and non invasive, thus no damage is done to the teeth.

STRIAGHTER TEETH:

Its never too late to correct crooked teeth, spaces or teeth that stick out. These can all decrease your self confidence.
You can choose from the latest orthodontic techniques.

  • Invisalign. Invisalign is a revolutionary way to straighten teeth without wires. It uses a series of transparent aligners made of a thin clear plastic which fit onto your teeth, like a very thin mouth-guard. They are nearly invisible and can be easily removed for eating and brushing. Learn more
  • Inman Aligner. The Inman Aligner is a cutting edge procedure which can straighten front teeth in a fraction of the time of conventional Orthodontics. The Inman Aligner is a removable appliance that provides continual gentle pressure which quickly aligns crowded front teeth. The initial treatment can be completed in 8-12 weeks. As it is removable it can also be removed for eating and brushing.
  • Fixed Braces. These use wires and brackets which are permanently attached to your teeth. The 'metal mouth' look can be improved by using clear ceramic brackets. Alternatively these can be attached to the inner surface of you teeth (lingual braces) where they cannot be seen.

COSMETIC DENTISTRY:

Cosmetic dentistry can be anything from changing an unsightly metal filling to radically changing your smile. We can improve your smile by making teeth look younger (teeth whitening), Straightening crooked teeth (Orthodontics) or permanently replacing missing teeth (implants/Bridges). Modern developments in dental materials offer patients reliable and comfortable alternatives to metal based materials.

  • Tooth Coloured fillings : The metal smile is history. We now have tooth coloured filling materials that look like teeth. In one visit the old mercury amalgam can be replaced. If you are worried about the release of Mercury vapour we can do this under a protective rubber barrier (rubber dam) to stop you breathing the vapour.
  • Crowns and Bridges : Crowns, commonly know as caps completely cover a weak tooth and protect it. Crowns are made of metal, porcelain or a combination of both.

A bridge is made where there is a missing tooth. Crowns are made either side of the space, joined together by a false tooth within the space.

Crowns and bridges are made by hand in the laboratory and glued in place in the mouth.
  • Veneers : Porcelain veneers are thin shells of porcelain that fit over the front surface of your natural teeth. We can use these to change the shape, colour and position of a tooth in just two visits. They are custom made from moulds taken of your teeth and then bonded on to your teeth. They will look their best for 10-15years with good maintenance and will not change colour over that time.

FRESH BREATH:

Bad breath or halitosis is very common, but unfortunately the person with it is often unaware they have it. 90% of bad breath comes from bacteria in the mouth. These bacteria hide in the areas that you miss when you clean your teeth.

How do you solve bad breath?

  • Brush and floss correctly
  • Professional mouth cleaning. Visit your dentist every 6 months to have your teeth cleaned.

REPLACE MISSING TEETH:

  • Implants. Implants are the modern way to replace missing teeth. The implant which is made of titanium is fitted in the bone where the tooth would normally be. A crown can then be attached to the implant to replace the missing tooth.
  • Bridges. The teeth either side of the gap are prepared for crowns. These are joined together by a false tooth within the space.
  • Dentures. This is a plate with a number of false teeth on it. They can be made of plastic or a mixture of plastic and metal. Unlike implants and Bridges these are not permanently fixed in the mouth. They have to be removed at night and to clean.

HEADACHES AND FACIAL PAIN:

  • Do you suffer with chronic headache and facial pain?
  • Do you wake up with tightness in your jaw or face muscles?
  • Does your partner complain that you grind your teeth at night?
  • Are your teeth wearing down?

If you have answered yes to any of the above it may be the way your teeth bite together that is the cause of your problems. A simple treatment such as a removable appliance can alleviate chronic or severe pain.

Unfortunately few Doctors and patients are aware of this non drug, non invasive treatment.

Many people clench or grind their teeth, mostly in their sleep. A plastic appliance can be made to cover the surface of all the teeth in one jaw.

This can help alleviate headaches and reduce the force of grinding and thus limit wear and damage to your teeth.

FACIAL TREATMENT:

One of the most effective ways to improve your appearance and look younger is to smooth out lines and wrinkles. To smooth forehead wrinkles (frown lines) we use a substance called Botulinum toxin (Botox). This can also be used to smooth lines around the eyes crowns feet).

Botulinum has been used safely and effectively for many years in cosmetics and general medicine. Botulinum is injected into facial muscles in very tiny amounts. It works by blocking the transmission of nerve impulses to the facial muscles. This makes the muscles less active and so softens and smoothes the appearance of lines and wrinkles. See the Result
